The Photo Loft is a rental studio that I love to shoot at as a Logan commercial photographer. Converted from a historic Sinclair gas station building, the River Heights studio offers plenty of natural light. It’s a short drive from my home and an easy place to meet up with models for a shoot. I like that there’s plenty of space to set up lighting and backdrop paper if needed. The white walls throughout the studio are perfect for reflecting the natural light without distracting color casts. Consequently, while shooting the images above for Giving Bracelets, the gorgeous natural light from the windows illuminated the jewelry perfectly. The overcast weather outside also contributed to the soft, diffused quality of that natural window light.

When shooting in December in Cache Valley, it’s not easy to find photogenic outdoor lifestyle locations. However, the foliage outside of The Photo Loft actually worked really well to shoot a few outdoor close-ups. Firstly, I placed my model in front of the plants in the garden. Next, I got creative with my shooting angles to make sure the plants and sky were shown in the background, not the snow. Finally, I captured images of the bracelets on the model’s wrists that have an outdoor feel without making the freezing winter setting obvious to the viewer.

Giving Bracelets Jewelry

Working for Giving Bracelets always feels like a treat to me! They are one of my longtime, loyal clients and I love creating images to help them advertise their jewelry. Giving Bracelets lives up to their name, as they give a portion of all their sales to the CASA program. Buying jewelry from Giving Bracelets helps to support and advocate for the children in the foster care system who are served by CASA.
