Can I let you in on a little secret? I’ve always been interested in food photography and had a feeling that I’d enjoy it and maybe have a talent for it, but there’s a side of it that I didn’t anticipate before I delved into the food photography world. So here’s my secret…one of my favorite parts of being a Phoenix food photographer is that I get to discover some out-of-this-world DELICIOUS food, created by incredibly talented local chefs! Lately I had the opportunity to discover the mind-blowing taste sensation that is Beignet Babe!
Celine, the owner and chef behind Beignet Babe, serves up the most incredible melt-in-your-mouth beignets, filled with flavors that take beignets to a level I never knew was possible. When I went to Disneyland not long after watching The Princess and the Frog, the food I was most excited to try was Tiana’s “man-catchin’ beignets” in New Orleans Square. They just looked so yummy in the movie, and while the Disneyland beignets were tasty, they really can’t compare to Beignet Babe’s filled beignets! Celine has created many drool-worthy filling flavors for her beignets, and the flavors she asked me to photograph were chocolate, dulce de leche, raspberry, lemon, as well as classic un-filled beignets. They were all scrumptious, but if I had to choose a favorite I would have to go with the raspberry jam filled beignets! I could eat them all day.
