Logan Canyon Family Pictures Before a Big Move

These Logan Canyon family pictures were taken early on a beautiful late summer’s morning near the Franklin Basin turnoff. Aly is a school friend of mine from high school and further back. I’m pretty sure we went to the same elementary school and definitely middle school. High school is where we crossed paths more, though, since we both took advanced art classes. Aly reached out and asked me to take family photos for her and her husband with her parents and their dogs. She explained that she and her husband would soon be moving out of state from Utah. They wanted to take photos of the whole family in the Logan area where Aly grew up before their big move onto new adventures in a new place.

Logan Canyon: Gorgeous for Pictures Any Time of Day

Originally we planned to shoot in the late afternoon of the previous day, but the weather didn’t cooperate! Lots of rain in the forecast changed our plans and postponed the family photo session to early the following morning. Luckily, you can’t go wrong taking pictures in the gorgeous mountains of Logan Canyon. There are beautiful vistas everywhere you turn and gorgeous light to be found both early in the morning and later in the day, so everything worked out just fine to change the time of the shoot at the last minute. I loved getting to see Aly again, meet her family and catch up on life and where it has taken each of us 10+ years post high school!

Sage & Juniper in the Sage & Juniper

I can’t resist giving Aly’s sweetheart dogs their own special shoutout. Sage and Juniper are the cutest and most loved dogs! Their names were especially fitting for the location of this photoshoot, since you’ll see lots of sagebrush in these photos and I’d dare to bet a juniper tree might be somewhere in the background as well–both native plants to Logan Canyon!
