Riparian Preserve Family Portraits | Gilbert AZ Photographer
These family portraits are so fun and filled with laughter and I’m so excited to share them! I met up with the Wiltbank family at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, almost exactly one year after taking Cheryl and Dwain’s engagement portraits. I remember chatting with this sweet couple last year and hearing about Dwain’s four kids and the activities they enjoy doing together, but I hadn’t met the kids before, so it was really great to put names with faces and get to know them!
On the Saturday afternoon of the Wiltbanks’ family session, clouds flitted back and forth across the Arizona sun. I got so excited every time the sun shone through those clouds to create the dreamy, glowing backlight that I love to capture in portraits! I have photographed at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve numerous times, but usually it has been at other times of year, so I made sure to arrive extra early for this session and scout out some of the trails and areas of the preserve that I hadn’t yet explored. I’m so glad I took that extra time to prepare for the session, because I found some hidden gems of locations that worked really well for the Wiltbanks’ portraits and that I’m excited to use again in the future.
As I’m sure you’ll be able to tell from these portraits, the Wiltbanks are a joy to be around. The sibling banter from the four kids kept me cracking up, and it was really sweet to see the loving way that Dwain and Cheryl interact with each other and the kids. I love this family and I so enjoyed capturing this season of life for them!
