Now that I’ve moved to Utah, I’m excited to discover beautiful spaces to rent as a Utah commercial photographer. One of my favorite interior spaces I rented for commercial sessions in Gilbert, Arizona was the Elm House. The Elm House is an AirBnb created from an old historic home in downtown Gilbert. Beautifully remodeled by the team at Bigelow Built, the home offers large windows and tons of natural light. The design choices throughout the home feel modern and sleek. But I love that the owners kept some of the original historic charm which makes the house cozy and homey.

Drew, owner of AMP Premier Products, hired me to photograph his mail organizer home decor product. Before listing it on Amazon, he needed photos of the mail organizer styled in a beautiful modern home. Immediately I knew the Elm House would be the perfect fit for this shoot! A perfect spot on a wall in the entry way stood ready for us to hang the mail organizer with command strips. The surrounding decor blended seamlessly so the mail organizer appeared an intentional part of the home’s design.
Communicating Versatility Through Styling
One of Drew’s priorities for this project was to make sure the photos illustrated how versatile the mail organizer could be. During the planning process, I brainstormed different ways that the shelf, hooks, and chalkboard features of the organizer could appeal to different types of people. I came up with a few different pretend personas that could be played by the same model in the lifestyle photos by changing her outfits and switching out the props on the mail organizer–a busy mom of little kids, a passionate pet owner, and a driven career woman. Leah, the model I worked with, did such a great job portraying each role and the Elm House worked perfectly for all the images we needed to capture to sell the versatility of the mail organizer. I really enjoyed styling and shooting these photos and love how they turned out!
