Valentine Jewelry Collection | Phoenix Commercial Photographer
Recently my friend Jenny, the owner and creator of Pure Life Jewelry, told me that she had a special collection of products coming out for Valentine’s Day and asked me to photograph them. Jenny’s handmade jewelry is so unique and beautiful, and I couldn’t wait to see what she had designed with a Valentine’s theme in mind! Typically I shoot Jenny’s products on white or light gray backgrounds because that fits her brand, but she requested soft blush pink tones to be included for this shoot to add to the romantic Valentine’s Day feeling of the images.
One of my favorite things about brand photography is the way I get to push my creativity with every shoot. For example, in the photo below, I was looking for a way to display this necklace that would raise it up to a higher angle to let me shoot the heart pendant straight on instead of only getting a shot from above with it laying flat. Luckily I had picked up a rose that coordinated with the brand’s blush pink color palette for the shoot, so I plucked a petal and draped the necklace over the round contour of the petal to have it situated at this angle. It took a few tries to get it to stay, as it often does when I’m positioning delicate jewelry on uneven surfaces–I literally hold my breath while I’m getting the shot so many times! But it’s so worth taking the time to get it just right. I love the subtle sense of romance the rose petal gives, and I love pairing organic, natural elements with the geometric metal shapes of the jewelry.
